National Day 1986 - 130 baisa

Issued in 1986 as part of the National Day commemorative series, this stamp features Burj Al Sahwa (Tower of Awakening), one of the most recognizable modern landmarks in Oman. Located near Muscat, the monument was erected to symbolize the Omani Renaissance (Al-Nahda) initiated under the leadership of Sultan Qaboos bin Said. The tower became a prominent symbol of the country's transformation and development, representing progress in education, infrastructure, public services, and national unity during the modern era. By issuing this commemorative stamp, the Sultanate of Oman celebrated the achievements of National Day and highlighted the country's remarkable development since the beginning of the Renaissance period. The issue honored the vision of Sultan Qaboos and emphasized the values of modernization, cultural pride, and national progress, while recognizing Burj Al Sahwa as a lasting symbol of Oman's journey toward prosperity and advancement.
